Snack Drive for Athletes!

Donate snacks for food-insecure middle school athletes from North Chicago. Along with Gatorade, the most popular items are boxes of single-serve snacks: goldfish, cheez-it, beef jerky, trail mix, granola bars, welch's fruit snacks, apple sauce packets, veggie straws, pirate's booty, dried fruit, and teddy grahams. Birthday Bag Bonanza!

Do you want to make someone’s birthday extra special this year?!  If so, please click on the link below to donate a Birthday Bag to a food- and shelter-insecure individual who receives weekly food from a Chicago pantry.  Please include the following items in your birthday bag: cupcake pan (metal or disposable), cupcake liners, cake mix, and frosting.  If you're feeling extra festive, please feel free to include candles, sprinkles, a birthday card, birthday paper plates, birthday napkins, balloons, kazoos, a small gender-neutral gift, etc!  You can buy birthday gift bags or white ones to decorate, whatever works for you!  THANK YOU THANK YOU!  You rock!

Planting + Gardening at Our House

Our House is a wonderful shelter that serves youth between the ages of 18-24 by helping meet their basic needs while building life skills and working toward a permanent housing solution. Help us replant vegetables and herbs in raised beds, weed, and beautify the outdoor space. Volunteers must be able to lift 25 lbs + walk up half a flight of stairs. Located in Evanston near the intersection of Emerson/Ridge. Exact address will be provided as the date draws near.

Meal + Educational Bundle Assembly!

For many families, breaks from school can pose challenges for them to provide meals to their children.  With your generous support, we were able to provide funds for North Chicago Community Partners to purchase food and educational materials for 200 families to enjoy over Winter Break!  Please join RGC in NCCP's Lake Bluff facility to assemble these bundles for families living in North Chicago. Kids under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Distributing Warmth!

Let's help our beloved partner, Connections for the Homeless, spread warmth by distributing winter gear to their participants.  Volunteers will assist participants in the winter clothing and gear room where they will pick out a coat, boots, and other essential winter items. Sign up as a group or as an individual. Children under 13 are welcome with adult supervision, but should not be signed up as individuals to ensure enough adult support. 

Volunteers will assist with one of the following roles:

Taking remaining clothing off of racks, remaining food off of tables, removing signage, and taking tables down.

Third Annual Halloween Party

With the donated Halloween costumes, games, and bags of candy, we're throwing a party again for the kids in the Back of the Yards neighborhood (southwest side of Chicago, near Sox Park) who usually don't get to experience the magic of Halloween due to the lack of safety in the area.  Let's provide them with a wonderfully spooktacular Halloween!!! 

We’ll set up/decorate from 9-10am! The party will be held from 10-1130a.m. Transportation is not provided.
